Hello, everyone. My name is Bradley M. Nelson, a first-year PhD candidate in the department of English at the CUNY Graduate Center specializing in 19th century American literature. I taught composition and literature at Brooklyn College for four semesters.

Originally I created this blog after I realized that we have all maximized our sharing, linking, and posting, but our comments have become minimal at best. Though I love aesthetic and linguistic minimalism, like many, I believe that our increasing brevity is turning us into mindless, trend-chasing drones: the very fact that we like something is becoming more important than why we like something. I write about most anything, so long as it requires some commentary, visual or written.

This site is also intended to function as a launching pad from which all of my online activity may spring. Its content may land elsewhere:
